History
Four Decades in the Making.
Tom Stocksdale has spent over forty years in construction, and was working in the industry well before Monarch ever existed. After earning his BS and MS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, he rose through The George Hyman Company (now Clark Construction) and a series of ENR 100 general contractors, advancing from Project Manager to Senior Vice President and Division Manager.
Monarch was born from that experience. Tom founded the firm in 1999 to change how projects get delivered, giving every team the resources and the authority to manage their work properly. More than 25 years later, that principle still runs every job we take.
Salute to a Founding Partner
John Fredenburg, along with Tom Stocksdale, was one of the two founding partners of Monarch. His significant contribution was critical to the early success and growth of the company. John and Tom had worked together for more than fifteen years prior to the launch of Monarch. John was liked by everyone, and will be remembered as a key contributor to what Monarch has become. John retired in 2019.
